Please be aware that a purchase exceeding your gift card balance will not be processed.
However, if you would like to use the card to purchase an item that exceeds the amount on your card, in that case, you’ll need to know the amount of your gift card balance so that the store or restaurant can enter that amount toward the purchase (and you can use another form of payment for any amount that exceeds the balance on the card).
For example, if your purchase is $20 and the balance on the gift card is $15, please let the store know to charge $15 to your gift card and then pay the $5 balance separately.

You can find out the current balance on your card by calling the phone number on the back of your card or at the website www.getmybalance.com.

The Downtown Business District gift card is accepted at more than 90 locations and the list continues to grow. See the list here. These businesses are also noted in our Discover Main Street Middletown brochure, and we include a brochure when we send you the card.

The funds on the gift card never expire. However, the plastic card does.  If you have a card and it is past the Valid Thru Date, please notify the Downtown Business District Office, and the card can be replaced for a $5.00 fee.

The balance is always yours. Gift cards purchased in Connecticut do not expire.

Please bring your receipt to the Downtown Business District office, and for a fee of $5.00, we will issue you a new card.
